Wow

smiles_on_faces_blog_award[2].jpgI

I got a badge passed to me today and it sure made me smile!

I’m required to tell you five facts about myself and then pass the award on to five more people. OK—let me think of some things you don’t know about me…

Fact 1: I used to be a professional model. Ok Ok my one professional job was a training film for KFC, they paid me so that made me professional. I'm sticking to that story and have pictures. But mostly I did it for free for churches etc.

Fact 2: I have a yellow belt in Karate, what makes this interesting is that I used to run from bullies but no more.

Fact 3: Hey Kim, I too am a shy person which people find hard to believe too. But its true. I have been known to walk around a store forever rather than ask for help locating something. So Kim I'm not laughing.

Fact 4: I was born at 11:55 pm the day after my mother's brother's birthday and the day before my father's sister's birthday. Aunt Mae said I could have waited 5 more minutes and been born on her birthdate. My mother disagreed since she had gone to the hospital 2 other times before and I wouldn't come out. Hey it was nice in there.

Fact 5: I'd secretly like to be a romance writer.

Now I need to pass this badge on to five more people. Hmmm don't know 5 bloggers who would take it. If you want it, let me know and I will send it to you. Thanks Kim for thinking of me and making me smile.

Cool Folds

I have been surfing the web and found these cute folds and had to try them.

It was great to use some of the Basic Grey papers I have been collecting in the card above!

Not sure who made the papers used on these but I had so much fun.IMG_1392 IMG_1393 IMG_1394

This one looks like it is multiple layers but it uses the score pal to create that illusion.

MO Stamping

If you have not heard of MO Manning please go and visit her site. She sells digital stamps that look like me. Why is that exciting…well there aren’t too many stamps period that look like me in rubber, acrylic or otherwise.

IMG_1361I colored this fairy with my copic markers. I’d like to tell you which ones but I used 22 of them and colored over my first colors with other colors. At one point my design was too orange (the Copic R’s ) and I went over them with pinks (Copic RV’s). I was trying to coordinate my coloring to match my layer designer paper. I ended up coloring some portions of the designer paper as well.

Here’s another of Mo’ designs

IMG_1365 I CASED this but can’t remember whose blog I was on.

Happy Stamping,

Attitude

IMG_1322

Doesn’t she look like she has attitude. I thought so and I have several friends with attitude so I made a few more.

IMG_1323

The stamp is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and colored with Copics. I also used a Cover-A Card Stamp on the background and layer from Impression Obsession.

Tomato Thieves

Now I know why I don’t get any tomatoes in my garden:

Well not today.  I have to get at least one, since I planted and watered that tomato plant…right?

Friday Night Stamping

I was at home tonight and thinking about two very special people who are ill.

First Mother Caldwell, my adopted mother, she is at home recuperating after surgery and Karen Ihles from Marco’s Paper, who suffered a stroke last week.

I want to send them both get well cards.

These are what I came up with:

IMG_1338

To make this one I used the Damask Mask from Heidi Swapp with Broken China Distress Ink (Ranger) and Not Quite Navy Ink (Stampin Up). The corner stamp is by Penny Black and the sentiment is a clear stamp from Stampendous. The tag is from Spellbinders and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. I plan to send it to Mother Caldwell.

The difference on this one is that I used the Butterfly Mask from Heidi Swapp and I used Sugar Cookie Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. The Butterfly masks had been used before so they imparted some left over color which gave it a very interesting look. (Just wish I could duplicate it but I have no idea what was left behind on the masks). This one goes to Karen Ihles.

If you would please join me in prayer for these two special women. And enjoy your long weekend, I plan to.

Sincerely,
