Black History Month

I was asked to teach a card to a group of stampers on the theme Black History Month.

To me It makes me think of Africa and where I came from.

I used my Black is Beautiful die cut I created for the ATC swap and 2 stamps from

Repeat Impressions for the background. I cut a window in the top layer to frame the postage stamp. Take time and remember your roots whatever that means to you and celebrate

those who came before you.

Dominique

I am a member of the Fearsome Foursome a group of friends who do battle together against and for life! One has a birthday this week and the others are on the same day in early March!

I made these cards for them with a stamp I found at Loralie Designs called Dominique!

For the “Task Master”

For “Kimba” who will be fiercely 50 this year.

And for McDancer whose birthday is this week.

I also made McDancer this notebook to use in Bible Study tomorrow night.

It was a composition book that I covered with Mariposa Paper from DCWV

First Cards of 2010

I spent the evening stamping with friends. As always a great time!

 

I made these today playing with hearts we cut last night!

the hear was cut from a Cricuit Cartridge and the background is a home made embossing folder that I cut on my Pazzles machine. I used Coordination's paper and sanded it.

Same paper and technique used used on this background.

That Place

I'm in the after holidays, bad economy, wrecked relationship blues.
I've been through some trying times lately, but I know that God is working it for my good.
I'm in that place before the manifestation of God's answer to prayer is evident. I'm hoping this won't last too long but its in God's hands.

I've separated from my husband and there are layoffs at work; so far I'm not affected.
I get my hands on a dissolution kit later this evening and I'm just at a crossroads. Tried of being tired.

Friends are coming to play tomorrow so I'm sure I'll have something crafty to share later.

Ms Judy Sanderson had the stampers over to the Ivyrock Suites (her house) for stamping and fellowship the day after Christmas.

We had a laugh at my attempts to get in the picture by holding the camera aloft and just snapping, but I finally got a profile shot.

  We tried some sketches and they sure did stretch us. Who knew it would take so long to follow someone else’s idea for a layout. I will have more respect for those who come up with those beautiful creations I see on Splitcoast.

I didn’t take more pictures because we were too involved eating and playing.
