Stamp The Nite Away Invites

 

I'm having the Sistahs crew in following Stampaway next Saturday to Stamp The Nite Away and this is the invite I sent. The outside says A girl can never have too many (used to say shoes but I only inked a portion of the stamp). The inside had a check list; Stamps, Purses, Shoes, Friends. I checked them all and then gave the invite info. I mailed these last week. I told you I was hyped for Convention. The purse die is a cute one by Sizzix and the flourishes are on one die by QuikCuts. I cut the purse out of some quilting fat quarters I had and some black glossy. I cut the handle off the fabric diecut and glued it to the full black glossy paper diecut to give it body. I added some gold paint on the clasp.

Last Week's Club Card

Our theme at Cincinnati Ink was Birthday with an embellishment.

I started with the verse as my inspiration. My embellishment is a clock with a page pebble over the face. I also used velvet ribbon, stickers and some great corrugated paper. The background paper is a Heidi Grace mask that I just sponged ink around. I used a Martha Stewart border punch that embosses and cuts. Love it!

 

I used some stickers from the same sheet on the inside and the same punch!

I almost didn't want to trade it...but I did!

Convention Hoopla!

I am already in convention mode.  What Convention you say...why STAMPAWAY of course if you are a rubberstamper or paper crafter anywhere near the Ohio Valley you should attend. It is here in my home town of Cincinnati and it is one week away. So yesterday I made my convention trades. This year I decided to make ATCs since they are all the rage. I wanted a simple design since I was making them in mass.

 

I'm calling her Beauty. I got her last year at Stampaway from DP Artworks, they called her Clio, but to me she is just so beautiful. I stamped her in Brilliance Cosmic Comic on glossy black paper and embossed her with Judikins Clear embossing powder. I rounded the corners with my new Round It All, what I liked about it was that I could do multiple layers at one time. I made 30 of these so that was a nice thing.

I had a custom ATC back stamp made by READYStamps. I love their service and I love that it helps a charity. You get a 7 by 9 sheet of stamps for $36, so I had a few custom made for friends.

Last weekend I went to a scrapbook store's garage sale and one of the bargains I got was a Maya Road tin for $1...I'm not much into chipboard (yet) so getting the tin empty was alright with me. It occurred to me that it would be perfect to carry my trades in. But not naked...no no no.

I applied Alcohol Inks in blues. Then I stamped it with Palette Hybrid ink in Noir Black and added the dots with my Ranger white gel pen.

Old Friends

I was inspired by Belinda of Crazy Art Girl frame to dig out this old bracelet I made. It had fallen into disrepair from constant wear. I took at class at Stampaway from Lori Larson in 2006 and made this bracelet. Stampaway is coming up in another week and I can't wait to go. My friends from Dayton and Springfield will travel to Cincinnati and we will roam the convention together. I will try to remember to take pictures. This bracelet brings back great memories.

Adventure into Collage

I have always been in awe of collage artists. Mine usually end up filed in the circular file. But today I finally have one I actually like.

I started by adding some images from Artful Illusions and some paper from K&Company to a 5X7 canvas board. I used some watercolor crayons, a silver hot glue stick and some silver dewdrops. I covered the photos with Crackle Accents. Please tell me what you think. Does it need anything else?

I think I was inspired by having spent the day in the company of women. It was Red Hat Saturday and we met at Yolanda's house and after being well fed we hung out in the pool. No one went blind when I put on my swim suit so I think it was a good day.

Bar-B-Q and Babies

This is my 10 month old granddaughter enjoying a barbeque bone on the 4th of July.  We were house bound due to the rain but my allergies would have kept me in anyway. Nevertheless it was fun to be with family.

Something I did

I got one of the dies from the new Sizzix Movers and Shapers set. I did not spend the $30plus on the whole system but just bought one of the interchangeable dies. I made it work in my Cuttlebug and have ordered some more. The big background stamp is by Hero Arts. Below I turned the die cut into a frame. I cut the card into the shape of a house and sent it to a friend who just moved.
