I Shall REturn

My life has turned topsy turvy since February when I last posted regularly! And in a good way. In the space of 3 weeks I got a promotion, and got married! I've missed my stamping time but now I think things have settled enough that I can return to it.

This is Stampaway Week here in Cincinnati and us stampers are counting the seconds and minutes until the Preview Party on Friday nite. If you don't know what Stampaway is go to the website at www.stampawayusa.com. See you soon. I'll report on what I see and do.

Gone Too Soon - Good Bye Michael

Michael Jackson's music was the sound track of my life. He was only a year older than I am. And no matter whatever else he may have or not been, he was a great entertainer. May God comfort his family!

With deepest Sympathy,

Queen Pam

Cup Full of Love

IMG_1050

I am sending my Valentine wishes early and sharing them here. My cup of love runs over and I hope yours does too.

I made another version and I am sending this on to a Mother of my church.

Tempted

IMG_1048

I was tempted not to buy this stamp but then again I could not resist.

First I stamped it twice so I could cut out the fish. I colored it with Copic's YR 65 and YR 68.

I colored the water with B02.

and the grass with G14

I colored the sand with E31:

I colored the whole bowl area with B00, even over the other colors to give the illusion of glass.

IMG_1043

I used E35 on the cat, coloring quickly to avoid streaks:

Then I didn't like how even the coloring appeared. so I went over it with the E31 I used on the sand.

I filled in the background with BV02 and I wanted it lighter

so I went over it with the blender

IMG_1047  and that its. I cut a slit in the cat's mouth and slipped in the fish so only its tail stuck out.

The inside says: The only way to get rid of temptation is to give in to it.

Sadly

IMG_1037

Sadly there will come a time when you will need a Sympathy Card. A friend lost her son recently, so I made her this card. I double cuttlebuged it. I embossed it with one folder and sanded it and then embossed it again with another folder and sanded again. I used the Perfect Printing Pouch before stamping on the ribbon, this keeps it from feathering. The verse is from Stacy's Stamp

I am praying for the comfort of my friend and her family.

Don't Fit In!

IMG_1034

I'm an odd ball so this stamp by Rosie's Road Show just spoke to me. "Don't try too hard to fit in when You were born to Stand Out"

I go It at the super bowl sale this weekend too. The fish is a Hero arts tiny peg type stamp. I colored it with Copic's YR68 and B21. I used my Fiskars Wave scissors to create the border.  I doodled in some bubbles.

It's A Girl Thing Too

IMG_1022

I made this art today as I watch the pre-game show for the Super Bowl. IT's not just a man thing. Some of us women like football too.

Besides that my local Stamp Store: Stamp Your Art Out held a Super Bowl sale all weekend long and I got this cool new stamp cube by B Line Designs called Bella Twosie (among other things!).This cube came in two sizes which is cool because I can use the smaller one to decorate the envelope(hey stamp companies this is a good selling point). And if you are a Stamper you know that new stamps call out for you to ink them up. I am also in love with this new technique of creating your own background paper that looks surprisingly like designer scrapbook paper.

Wow it was so fun to create it. Here's how. I started with the ribbon as my inspiration for the colors I used. I have had this ribbon forever and often when I go to use it the colors are just not right for the finished piece, but I love it so today I am making sure it will work. I choose Color Box Fluid Chalk in Yellow Ochre, Pink Pastel, and Wisteria, looks like they match pretty closely to the ribbon. Then I choose a stamp set from Fancy Pants called "In The Garden". I distressed the edges of the card and layers with the Tonic Distress tool and I added a bit of Copic Marker to the lips.
