Dish The Dirt

No we are not going to gossip...sorry (not in writing you could get sued these days). But lets dish the real dirt! The urge to get dirt under my fingers hit me this morning and I was online flitting from gardening site to nursery site. Looking at plants and dreaming up a lush border for my home. Then the dangerous part I got in my car and drove to Binkens Nursery...there went stamp money. I saw and fell in love with a Wigela but didn't buy it there instead I went to Lowes where I got one for half the price. What I did buy there was some beautiful orange snapdragons.

Dish the Dirt

After Lowes where I also bought 2 Hostas and some more tiny snap dragons I came home to my dirt. Wouldn't it be nice if weeds never grew in our yards. After a tiny bit of weeding and some Roundup I put my plants in the ground just in time for the rain!

Windows Live Writer

I found this great program for bloggers called Windows Live Writer. This is my first test post. Just to see how it works and if it works.  Here is a picture of my mom from 1948:

Water Misting

I snagged this technique off of Splitcoasters. I colored the stamp with markers and then misted it with water, then stamped it.  Looks like a painting. I like it so well I may have one framed.  I made three of them before I stopped.  I was having so much fun! QP

Two Step

While working on my previous posts I came across my two step stamps and so I had to try to use them. I also am still stuck on Michelle's technique. Tomorrow is another me day.  There is a lot of stress in my life right now and so I am going to have some Art therapy. I am taking a class with Cheryl Darrow of Ten Seconds Studios. I will post pictures of what I learn. Later QP

Cuppa take 2

Earlier today I posted a card that I cased called cupa.  Well I was still having fun with Michelle's tutorial and created this second version. Enjoy.  The stamps are from posh impressions its a 2 step one. The paper and sticker are from Daisey Ds' Brighten My Day collection. I used Marvy Markers to color the stamp. Walnut Stain Distress ink to age the papers and to give the card uniformity. I added the dots with my Signo white gel pen. QP.

CASED

I was visiting Michelle Zindorf's blog today. (Michelle's tut)

I usually go there everyday because she does great tutorials.  T
oday I completely CASE'd her tutorial and I love the result. visit her blog for details, you'll be there awhile looking around.

Makes me want a cupa hot chocolate! Perhaps if we are lucky here in Southern Ohio we will finally have spring, so this may be the last cup of season. For me hot chocolate is so soothing on a winter's afternoon. I remember coming in from school and being greeted by my mother and a loving cup of hot chocolate. Gotta run, have some fun today!

Firsts

This is my first scrapbook layout!  I am learning how to digitally scrapbook and this is my first attempt.  The other first is the subject; my first granddaughter who spoke for the first time at age 5 months.

Isn't she just the Cutest! I know I am biased being a new Grammy, but I'm entitled and you'd be too!
