In Sympathy

Sadly we will all need to make and send a sympathy card at one time or another.  I made this one for a friend whose mother passed away, my heart goes out to her.
I used a beautiful stamp from the Thomas Kincaid collection from Cornish Heritage Farms ; I stamped it in Sepia Versafine on glossy cardstock that had been brayered with Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor pad.  I then cut some satin ribbon and stamped on it “With Sympathy”. Since the Versafine would not dry on the glossy cardstock I covered it with a acetate sticker and added the “dew drops”

The inside verse says:
I pray that in a very special way the Lord will comfort you today.

Birthday times 3

Today I needed 3 birthday cards...well actually I needed 2 of them before today. A good friend and 2 of my great-neices will be the recipients.

I love the elegance of this card. It has silver foil vellum that is tied on with silver edged ribbon. The vellum was in a clearance bin at Craft 2000 and has a friends theme. The dark paper is actual silver mirror paper which goes dark in the scanner.

One niece is turning 16 and the other 12. I thought these cards would be fun to make with them in mind. I also wanted to try out the Digital Stamps I downloaded from Pink Petticoat. This is new to me as I am a stamper who uses physical stamps but these digital ones were economically and fed my need to have it now. I colored these cards with Copic Markers.

Be Love

To have a friend be a friend.
If you want a love be love.
That's the card I made tonight.  Thinking about what I want most in my life and realizing that to get it I need to be it. What we send out is what comes back to us...both the good and the bad.
This is card is for my club meeting this Sunday and theme is Valentine and use flocking. The heart and the words are flocked. The ribbon is actually held in place so it looks like it is flowing.
