It’s a Match

Hey it’s your girl Queen Pam here for SOC with a copic tip.

I like to use die cuts and or fussy cuts and one of things that I don’t like most of time is that little bit of white that shows when you cut them.

Often times I will just ink the edges with a black ink pad. Today however I wanted the die cut to appear like it was cut precisely, so my white edge needed to be colored to match.

So I pulled out my copic swatch ring and tried to find a color that would give me the seamlessness I was looking for.

I choose B06 to do the job. I like to hold my marker from the back when doing this as it seems that should I slip, the marker slips toward the back of the image and not on top. And that way my image is not ruined or in need of an embellishment.

Here is how my images turned out. The ball jars look they were cut without a border.

And here is my final project a group of interactive ATCs for a swap.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Sprinkle-of-salt

As you know last weekend I played along with PaperTreyInk’s Stamp-A-Faire challenges and I won one of them.

In the next couple of days I will do a wrap up post of the event. But for now I wanted to share my excitement! Glory to God!

Thanks God for your unmerited favor!

SAF Mist and Clay Techniques

Still playing along with Stamp-A-Faire. We made our own mists with Alcohol and reinker. We also played with some Delight air dry clay.

Here is a card using those techniques.  My butterfly is vellum covered in Clay. I sponged on some Hawaiian Shores ink. My mist is made from Royal Velvet reinker. The stamp set is Mums The Word and the flourish is a Paper Trey Die.

The first challenge is to use a supplied sketch and color recipe. I choose these:

And here is the card I came up with.Picture 119

Winner

You know sometimes the voices in our heads should be ignored and sometimes not. Today I took lunch to watch Spellbinders live. And they announced that they were giving away a prize for the first person to type in the answer to a question they were going to shortly ask. Immediately the collateral noise started in my head. “You’ll never win because you can’t type, not to mention that your hand is hurting.” My spirits fell.

But then that still small voice that should not be ignored spoke and said “you never know…try.”

I did try and I won a set of dies, the new hatpin bezels and I think some paper.

So now which voice will you listen to today.

Thank You God for meeting me where I live and confirming your presence even in my crafting world and making me a winner.

Thanks also to Spellbinders for this prize and lesson in listening.

Psalm 42

King James Version (KJV)

42 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?

11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
